Hello!

I seem to start every new post lately with an apology! So here it goes again! I'm sorry for being the worst blogger ever! Life has taken off in a fabulous direction lately and nights in are a rare thing! Last year I was in final year of college and I've realised that it literally drains any bit of life left in you. I'm making the most of being free at the moment so blogging just doesn't happen as often as I'd like. I'm going to start doing multiple posts when I do get time so that way I won't seem like such a bad blogger!

Check back soon and hopefully there'll be something new!

Hit or Miss...

I'm going out on a limb here but I did not like the Burberry Prorsum S/S '11 collection. It was my most anticipated show of all the fashion weeks and I was highly disappointed! The reason being is that I think Christopher Bailey is still riding high on his success from his S/S '10 designs. As the saying goes "If it ain't broke, don't fix it". I just think in the world of fashion, it has to be changed every season and mixed up a little or a lot like McQueen or Galliano.

As I was flicking through the shots of the Burberry show earlier I was let down by each and every outfit. This collection was again all about draping and the statement jacket like all previous shows- Trench, Shearling, Aviator, Biker. I've seen it all before.

Maybe it's just the mood I'm in and I'll possibly change my mind but frankly, I'm a bit bored.

P.S. I was cheered up though by the model who fell on the runway. I always laugh when somebody falls, I just think it's hilarious!

If you have a minute...

Hey,

If you love photography and landscape shots, check out this site: http://www.trishpunch.com/ or on facebook here: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Trish-Punch-Photography/101375986590818?v=wall

I used to work with Trish and she always had a camera in her hand! She has amazing talent and has wonderful shots of all over the world!

It would be great to support her so if you could repost on your own blogs or just spread the word.
Thanks,
Emma

The Talented Miss Mulligan..

Carey Mulligan in US Vogue.

This shoot is amazing! From the location, to the couture to the black hat that she wears! It was shot by Peter Lindbergh, who is fast becoming one of my favourite photographers!

I love Carey actually! She is one of those actresses who has raw talent and seems to not just be in the business for fame. An Education was my favourite film this year and I'm looking forward to seeing her in Never Let Me Go.

Zara Lookbook September

Zara is my new favourite shop! I'm loving their take on all the A/W trends. Although the lookbook for September is very minimalistic and very black/camel colour based, I still love it! I did find Zara quite expensive in New York so I didn't buy anything there. Defo will be heading into the one in Cork soon.

Long overdue..

Hello!

Sorry for the long absence I've been city hopping! London and then New York, all in the last two weeks!

*My favourite NY purchase are these shoes that I bought in Forever 21! My friend actually screamed when she saw them last night and didn't believe me that the weren't Miu Miu's! Love them!

I also managed to find a dress for my graduation which is on Wednesday! I'll post a photo later on in the week! It's exactly what I was looking for and I can't wait to wear it!

*I'm so excited that H&M are collaborating with Lanvin for a collection to be released in November. I can honestly say that I will be part of the stampede that day!

I promise to be better at blogging in the future! This summer has just been so busy!]

Weekend in London.

I'm just back from the most fantastic trip to London! Had so much fun! It was a weekend filled with shopping, coffee drinking, museum/gallery trips, clubbing and hangovers. All a very good combination!
During a trip to the Tate Modern I fell in love with an exhibition of photo's from Bruce Davidson. One of his major works "Subway" is on show in the Tate and I was completely mesmerized by it. It is a series of photos taken on the NY Subway in the 1980's. This image was my favourite:
He has an amazing body of work which you can see here.

A/W Wishlist

Even though the sun is blasting at the moment, I still can't wait for it to cool down a bit. Autumn/Winter are my favourite seasons and I'm looking forward to being dressed in warmer clothes.
I've made a few resolutions though:
1. Wear less black and more navy.
2. Actually wear the boots that I buy and lock away my pumps.
3. Take advantage of the weekends (I'm in a lab coat during the week so all I wear is jeans and tshirts)
4. No more Uggs.
5. And finally, do some outfit posts!

I can't wait to get my hands on the aviator leather jacket. It's from Oasis and I'm hoping to pick it up when I'm in London next weekend.

Decades..

This weekend in Cork is the Decades Festival! Every pub and club have picked a decade to celebrate! My friends and I have decided to go 20's on Saturday night! So I have to to root out my flapper dress and corsage headband! My work buddies are also heading to the 80's night tomorrow night so I reckon I'll be popping along to that too. Can't beat 80's music!

If anybody is in Cork this weekend check out http://www.decadesfestivalcork.ie/ for more information!

Worst Blogger Ever..

I actually am the worst blogger ever. I'm so sorry to those who click onto my page and see the same post that's been there for the last 2 weeks. Finding the time to blog is near impossible at the moment. The only time I get to blog is at weekends and even then I'm either away or too hungover to type! :) So I'm going to make the month of August catch up on blogging month. I should have plenty to blog about too as I'm going to London and New York.

London was such a spur of the moment booking. I was on Perez one day at work and he had posted about Whoopi Goldberg starring in Sister Act the musical. I mentioned it around the office and in about ten minutes 3 of us were booked to go! Can't wait!

First thing I'll be doing in London is going to Topshop to buy these babies! Amazing!!

More A/W...

When I saw the Marc by Marc Jacobs A/W '10 show back in February I was really disappointed. But I've had another look and I've changed my mind. Maybe it was looking at winter clothes coming into the spring that was the problem. Anywho here are a few of my favourites and inspiration for my winter wardrobe!

Top of my List..

A sheepskin coat...

Burberry Prorsum

H&M

I love winter. I love being cosy. I love hats, scarves and gloves. My heart skipped a beat today when I went onto to Topshop.com to see that everything in their "new in" section was A/W! Top of my list this year is a sheepskin aviator style coat featured by Burberry Prorsum. H&M have a lovely one in their lookbook but I presume copies will be all over the high street. It's good to see a completely new style taking over. My mum also just told me she had a gorgeous sheepskin coat when she was my age. I'm currently not talking to her for throwing it away!! :)

Best Dressed..

Brittany Snow has got it spot on in my opinion.
I'm still not over my love of abstract printed trousers. I'm very annoyed that I never bought the leopard print hareems that I lusted over a while back! I'm also on the search for the perfect pair of nude pumps since Metrochica did a post on them, loving her "If you wear one thing this week" posts.

Coming back to blogging slowly but surely.
